Wimpy blog: Jesus is coming soon! Quick, everybody look busy!

Boy, the sermon Sunday really shook me up! It was about Jesus’ imminent return. Am I ready? Will I be left behind?

It scared me to the core. I’d better get right with some things and get busy. It reminded me of the movie, “2012.” I guess the Mayans knew something about this stuff. The special effects were pretty terrific. That movie made me think a lot. But then I kind of forgot about it and went back to my old ways.

I guess I mess up a lot, but I really don’t want to get left behind in Jesus’ return. I mean, the guys who want to serve Jesus after the rapture will have to be beheaded. If people are hostile towards Christians now, how much more so when the Holy Spirit is removed from Earth?

So this brings to the basic question I have as a wimpy Christian: How much sin can I get away with and still go in the rapture?

  1. Have you read the Left Behind Series by Tim LaHaye and Gary B. Jenkins? They sure scared me and I found them fascinating! They really make you think about what a post-rapture world will be like.

  2. glad to hear it motivated you! actually, “Manuel” is a persona, not the best example of a Christian because he always sees things from a worldly perspective. he can only get motivated by scaring, it would seem. thanks for your interest. “He” writes either Monday or Tuesday. I hope he’s humorous!

  3. If you are saved, if you believe and stand on the Gospel, trusting in Jesus as your Savior, then you are saved… period! (1 Corinthians 15:1-5; Ephesians 2:8-10). If you trust in Christ’s death, burial, resurrection, and ascension, you having nothing to fear! Why does the idea of Christ’s return scare so many Christians… the only people who should be scared of His return are atheists, and those of other religions besides Christianity!

I suggest if you really want a DETAILED study on the last days and the identity of the Antichrist FROM SCRIPTURE, get Dr. Patrick Heron’s book, “Return of the Antichrist and the New World Order.” It is an excellent resource using Scripture to interpret Scripture, and is one of the most comforting books I have ever read! You can get it on Amazon or on his website, http://www.neph.ie

    • Thanks for the feedback! “Manual” is a fictional persona who manifests all the wrong attitudes to help the reader get to the right attitude! Obviously, you have the right attitude! “Manual” is a church slouch, a young man who never sees things in a spiritual way.
