I agree! I’m so blessed to have found and married my life partner. We’re definitely going to be the cute elderly couple holding hands on the beach. And at 49 and 53, we are already halfway there 🙂
My husband and I were married in between our freshman and sophomore year in college. Forty years later, we’re still best friends. A year or so ago, a nice older man stopped us as we were leaving church to tell us that he had seen us holding hands on our way in from the parking lot and that he thought that was nice to see. I was touched that anyone would notice what I consider to be an ordinary everyday thing and also pleased that he took the time to voice his observation to us. It made me realize, in a way I hadn’t been particularly conscious of, that couples can, albeit often unwittingly, give hope to the young and comfort to the old by modeling the small affections common to a long and happy marriage.
I love the photo! 🙂
I am blessed to be nearly 20 years. And after all that we have been through, I still look forward to what God will do in the next 20! I often write about the first 20 on my blog and people are amazed at what we have survived. God is good is all I can say.
This photo is a nice reminder that part of life is growing older…having someone to grow with can be a blessing. Thanks for visiting and liking my post.
A simple solution to all the troubles of family and the world
It is so sad to see people don’t know what “commitment” means any more. It looks like they confuse it with “convenience.”
Beautiful mantra. Beautiful people. Thanks for sharing. Connie
Thanks, Connie. How are things going?
Great! How’bout you?
Good! Thanks! Tomorrow kids got a soccer game! Pray for them!
Awesome! Will do. Connie
It is indeed but why is that concept so hard for some to understand?

Yes, the older married couples sometimes don’t show affection, and they should!

Amen! I have 22 fortunate years together with my wife. I can definitely say that being a Christian has helped my marriage big time!

Date night! I’m a firm believer that all couples need a date night weekly, especially those with children.
So sad, but so true.
I gave your blog another award: http://maryannemistretta.wordpress.com/2012/12/16/the-liebster-award/
too nice! two many!
Love this. Used same picture in my blog several months back. Eloquent.
Some of these posts are important to circulate. We’re chipping in to good everytime we run it around the blogosphere.
If only the masses could understand this concept, what a different world we would live in.
