First they were 32,000. Then they were 10,000. Then they were 300.
The shocking attrition was actually good news. If Gideon had too many, Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved Me (God)’ Judges 7:2 NIV. By making victory even more impossible, God assured He’d get the praise.
If your situation is steeply difficult, don’t despair. Don’t calculate “possibility.” A miracle, by definition, is contrary to natural law and contrary to reasonable explanation. Do you have:
- church rent due with no foreseeable income to cover it?
- big dreams and small budgets?
- restrictions on what you can do for God due to finances?
Rejoice! When Gideon won against the Midianites, everybody got whooped up! Don’t glower, don’t be glum. God is going to move! Just pray with faith! Watch and see! Act and know that God will do what you cannot!
An inspiring post.
Thank you. Praise God
Great illustration of how God wins the victory and is glorified in our lives and ministries! Thanks!
Help us, Jesus!
Happy Easter. Blessing to you and yours ! .
Happy resurrection day!
God is faithful! He goes ahead of us.
😀
Yes Gideon did it, I like that story, with faith we can so much too!
😀
2.big dreams and small budgets? Yes, that’s where we are – prayer with me… believing God for big things
amen!
why 2 big dreams?
I was just telling myself this. I’m glad that God used you to word it differently for me. Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Keep eating pizza for Jesus!
Amen.

One of my favorite stories, put to timely use to encourage me today. Thanks!
It’s quite a great story.
Sometimes we are so conditioned to think of miracles as being big Technicolor spectacles with Dolby sound that we totally miss all the smaller miracles going on around us continually every day like a hug from a child, a smile from a stranger and the love of another…
Since I have started to journal all the cool things that happen in the day, as a way of praising God for them, I have realized exactly what you say: so many little miracles but just as powerful and just as wonderful!
