Our thought life

drive down roadWe are well aware of the damage that can be done by taking a wrong turn.

But we take no heed to the danger of negative or sinful thoughts. The Bible says, “Take captive every thought to the obedience of Christ.” If the direction of your thought life is toward depression, low self esteem, drugs or some other negative, take the steering wheel away from the devil and direct your thoughts towards positive things.

  2. More important than many people realize.

  3. Amen! The outcome of a thought can be determined by its trajectory. 😉

  4. That’s a powerful and very true quote… It hit me like a ton of bricks (or better like a three-ton car)

  5. Excellent, and in perfect line with Philippians 4:8.

  6. So true! I have lived this. You become what you think, and sometimes the results aren’t pretty. We really do need to guard our thoughts.

  7. I agree, not to be controversial, but that was a point I made about Duck Dynasty’s head of household, Phil. His allowing GQ magazine to draw out his very nasty thoughts about gays, did him a great disservice. I think everyone is entitled to an opinion and it is okay to dislike attributes of people, but not to describe the physical wantoness. This makes me think of the commandment, “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife/husband.” The thoughts of a Christian are not in the naughty details but the goodness and seeing the Light of Christ. Thanks for this post, you may edit away some of it. Just passing on my personal problem with someone who publicly espouses his family is Christian! Smiles, Robin
