They say it is give-and-take, but if it is to survive, it must give more than it takes. Stop trying to get out of your spouse more. Start trying to give more.

I do a good bit of marriage counseling, and something I say frequently is that as long as you are focused on gaining happiness for yourself, the further it will flee from you. When you focus on your spouse’s happiness, you’ll be amazed at how happy you become!
