Happy winter solstice in Santa Monica

winter solstice in santa monica

In effort to oust nativity scenes from the bluffs, the atheists posted this display. They caged their sign because supposedly Christians were going to vandalize it.

The atheist nuts here in Santa Monica actually think that they can supplant Christmas with the shortest day of the year, which ancient ignorants imbued with superstitious meaning.

Now this sounds like it could really upstage both Santa Claus and Jesus with an abundance of warm fuzzies, doesn’t it?

Christmas is about love. If you can downgrade love to a simple scientific question of neuro-chemical synapses (as some scientists are trying to do), then you might also be able to deconstruct Christmas. Love is at the center of Christmas — whether it is the family meal, gift-giving or decorations.

The foundation of Christmas is Christ. God so loved the world that He gave His only Son to save it. You won’t be eclipsing love any time soon — nor will make Christmas drop off the calendar.

  1. So dramatic that they caged it. I have compassion for them. It must be hard to live with that much anger. Lord have mercy and open their eyes to love.

    • Justin I sometimes think atheists aren’t so angry as they are fearful of God and religion. The aspect of condemnation and judgment…. If there is anger amongst atheists it stems from their believe that religion tries to push it down their throats (so to speak). What they miss is that pushing Christianity upon them is not a true method of Christians – but rather through love and the message of love for them by Christ….. who wants none to perish.

May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless and keep us all….

    • The Christians I hang out with all were happy with them making their own display. We were in favor of equal opportunity to display. But in the end, the few atheists behind this were content with displaying their msg. They had to continue to fight and get us off the bluffs altogether. With the current climate in our courts, we lost.

  2. Now that is maddening… The atheists can cay “Happy Solstice” on the bluffs but the Christians were kicked off for saying “Merry Christmas??”

  3. Sadly, there are too many “Christians” that may well take the opportunity to show their “righteous indignation”. I agree with Justin – We should indeed have compassion and continue to pray that God would stir the hearts of those who oppose Him, and that we who are responsible for making God’s love tangible to the world would not sin in the process.

“The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. Rom 8:7-8

  4. That is such an ugly substitute for the manger scene. But fitting for atheism.

  5. God bless your family and those you minister to. Happy new beginnings and joyous Epiphany of Christmas. Hugs, Robin
