Don’t pass over to the dark side of the force

star warsSometimes I tune out the movie-maker’s message and get my own. Such was the case of Star Wars. I’m a middle-aged pastor, who’s between churches right now. I’ve gone through some tough experiences, disillusions, etc. I can see how it would be easy to grow bitter, to rack up the negatives experiences and to snipe. So God spoke to me about the danger of passing over to the dark side of the force, as the movie says. It would be easy. I could be very effective. BUT, I would be in darkness.

This post goes out to all the aging pastors who have lost of the sense of romance when you’re young and starting ministry. Maybe you’ve been removed from ministry, suffered financial hardships, gone through unfair circumstances. Don’t pass over to the dark side. Renew yourself in the Lord, rejuvenate, refresh. Let waters flow into the desert and make it a lush garden again.

  1. The old forebearing father repaid evil by the son supposed to look after his interest is almoat like God and JESUS ‘killed off’ so many times by the very people to be saved by them. The Sovereign Lord is even treated worse so Jesus said how they treated Him so will they treat you. Of course it does not mean literally crucifying you on the cross. Although some days certainly feel that way. The Good News of the Gospel is God, Jesus, Holy Spirit sees all of the unsung dedicated pastors so WELL KNOWN BY HEAVEN AND WILL RECEIVE THEIR CROWNS OF LIFE. As a matter of fact the Bible says if you are being celebrated and glorified on man’s terms in this life you have no reward from God. This beautiful dream shared as follows says that Jesus zoomed past the most loyal devoted pastor, saint, person to the one avoided by all. Those ignored by Jesus disappointed not acknowledged by Jesus. Afterwards Jesus told them they were doing better by GOD’S Grace but Jesus Rushed passed them to the soul almost lost forever before it was too late. Sometimes it feels like God has no time for spiritual generals in the battle front but in Reality God is Always with you always in Jesus Name even if at times you may not feel so, yet be encouraged today. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in world.

  2. Excellent message. Reminds me of Psalm 30:5: “… weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning

  3. Reblogged this on RG's 2 Cents and commented:
I too, get messages from movies which the producers would never have expected.

  4. Fear of renewal a path to the dark side it is..? Giving-in to despair is already weakness, though a common, and hopefully temporal, one among faithful mortals. Only cowards and lunatics consider a life without risks and scars to be a real life. Given that saints are actually God’s more heroic cast, when it comes to a certain context, such could be true, IF God allows it to be so…
