Your name also belonged to a famous missionary who died reaching the Auca Indians.
Yes it is the same name and have tried to see if he is kin but cannot find it perfectly. Although all of us James Elliotts are more than likely related as I can trace our heritage back to the King of England in the 1600’s, when he gave my “Elliott” family land in what is now close to Lynchburg, Virginia (I still have family on the farm that was given to us. Pretty neat stuff.
